Therapy for Athletes
Maegan meets you not only as a trained clinician, but as someone who spent over 20 years as a competitive athlete herself—from being a “Kiddie Kicker” to navigating the college recruitment process, and experiencing firsthand the grit, joys, and pressures that come with being an athlete. She knows what it’s like to play through pressure, push through burnout, and keep showing up for a game that sometimes asks too much. She’s also coached and trained youth in sports, and has experienced what it takes—mentally, emotionally, and physically—to be a young athlete trying to balance performance, identity, and everything in between.
What Therapy Can Look Like in This Space:
You can hydrate, snack, or stretch while we talk—your body is part of the process, not something to ignore.
You don’t have to be “on”—there’s no coach here, no scouting report, no people to impress.
We can rewind and replay situations the same way you’d review film—slow it down, look at it from different angles, and decide what you want to do differently next time.
Tears, anger, laughter, exhaustion—it’s all allowed. Your emotional endurance matters just as much as your physical strength.
What We Can Work On:
Performance pressure & competition anxiety
Injury recovery, pain, and fear of re‑injury
Burnout, overtraining, and nervous‑system recovery
Identity beyond sport & life transitions (retirement, season breaks, role changes)
Team dynamics, communication, and boundaries
Self‑trust, confidence slumps, and motivation droughts
Grief, loss, and unexpected setbacks
Reclaiming rest, play, and joy outside the field/court
Executive function and balance between sport, work, and life
Any other concerns you bring into the room.
